Description
The employee is responsible for designing new and maintaining existing design work for all companies and clients in the Unisure group.
We are looking for someone who can take direction from written or spoken ideas and convert them seamlessly into images, layouts and other designs. The successful candidate should have an intimate understanding of how marketing campaigns work to support our clients.
Duties and Responsibilities – Traditional and Digital applications
- Report directly to the Group Marketing Manager
- Development, maintenance and consistent application of the Corporate Identity to all marketing and branding items
- Create logos and corporate identity for new products & services
- Designing look and feel for product houses
- Layout and design of all marketing collateral, branded material and websites
- Brainstorm and designing of all design elements, corporate identity and all collateral
- Assist with all brand, design and event related situations
- Developing concepts, graphics and layouts for product illustrations, company logos and websites
- Reviewing final layouts and suggesting improvements if required
- Designing of adverts for print & digital advertising
- Develop & design of group branding & displays for annual events/functions
- Sourcing of stock images
- Photoshop editing of images for various needs
- Design and layout of all annual & semi-annual reports, legal & financial documentation, forms, tenders and business proposal documentation
- Create animated/interactive presentations to equip the sales team
- Continuously sort and archive artwork, images and brand elements
- Help to develop concepts for interactive media that reflect strategy; are appropriate for the brand’s personality and are extremely creative
- Ensure that ideas/designs are produced timely with the degree of quality promised to the client and according to industry standards
- Remain current on industry trends and technology
- E-mailers and digital HTML Newsletter design (Mailchimp)
- Produces all types of interactive media and content
The candidate must assist to formulate digital, traditional and social concepts and execute conceptual and relative work.
Experience and Qualifications Required
- Grade 12/Matric, plus either a degree or diploma (or equivalent qualification) in graphic design
- 2-3 years of related work experience in the graphic design field
- Experience in Adobe CS suite: Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator, Premier Pro as well as multimedia presentations
- HTML knowledge an advantage
- Marketing related experience an advantage
- Excellent communication skills

- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- An understanding of the latest trends and their role within a marketable environment
- Understanding of web technology, usability and information architecture
- Understanding of animation and video production techniques
Strong Design Portfolio
Language Requirements
Writing and speaking fluent and correct English
Computer Literacy – Proficiency with the following programmes is required:
- Adobe CS suite – Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator, Premier Pro
- MS Office
- Windows and Mac compatible
